Monday Night Ride

Can you describe fear? Fear comes in many strange forms and ideologies. Never the less the Monday night ride which was my early season Nemesis has shown that most things can be conquered or more to the point managed.

Several weeks ago i went out on the Monday night ride, and got dismantled. While physically feeling okay, i succomed to a more than debilitating headache, and for the first time I really wanted to just quite, sell the bike, and sit in my recliner drinking Lager and watching the Star Wars trilogy (episodes 4,5,6) over and over.

Never the less i gutted it out, and made it back with my guide Will, Now to the present day.

Monday i went out with the group, and while still not able to ride a pace of the A riders (yet) I hung with Will and Tara and Sue. Now I had some trepidation even going out for the ride as my last experience left my on my butt, so i swallowed the fear and headed out to the Colonial parking lot and meet up with the group.

So what i didn't realize is the fact that Sue (who also rides a Masi) had wrecked several weeks before, broke two ribs and had a collapsed lung, was back on the bike riding. Holy crap i thought, that is over coming fear.

We did the ride, and got back just as the sun was setting. It was a great ride, and I was impressed on how well Sue rode. Then I thought what a trooper for getting back on the horse after most people would probably hang up the bike after a fall like that.
